Children’s Faith & Fun

The first Wednesday of each month children and youth are invited to participate in Faith and Fun. It runs from 5:30-7:30 - a meal is provided. The evening includes educational and spiritual activities that connect Bible stories with crafts and games. All children in the community are invited.

Clothes Closet

Our Clothes Closet supports the needs of families in the Center School District. We do not accept drop-offs and the closet is used only by the district social workers who are helping identified families.

Community Chorus

This singing group meets every Wednesday at 4:00 p.m. (with breaks in the summer) to learn new songs and practice the old. Throughout the fall and spring months they take their songs on the road to nursing homes, churches, and other ministry organizations. They always need new voices.

Fall Festival

Holmeswood annually hosts a community Fall Festival in October for the surrounding neighborhood and congregation. There are several opportunities for service related to this fun event. Opportunities include coordinating the event, donations, organizing, advertising and volunteering during the actual event. This is a wonderful way to connect our neighborhood and church community.

Food Pantry

This is an ongoing ministry to meet the needs of hungry people in the Center Community. We are in partnership with the school district social workers who have daily access to the food pantry as well as serving those who call on the church for assistance throughout the week.

In addition to supporting Forest Avenue Family Shelter financially, two groups from Holmeswood volunteer their time and resources by providing a meal for approximately 40 homeless women and children on the second and third Monday of each month. Holmeswood on occasion participates in the collection of items needed for the shelter.
